• I Am So Full

IMG_9580I went out earlier to do some errands and decided that I would pick up dinner for myself along the way.  This lead me to The Pennsy, a brand new upscale eatery located in Penn Station.  Hard to believe, right?  The Pennsy, which can be accessed on the corner of 33rd street and 7th ave is a food hall developed by caterer Mary Giuliani along with some of the most well known and respected chefs, including Mario Batali, Pat LaFrieda, and Marc Forgione.

When you go inside of The Pennsy, you are greeted by someone at the door, which is always a nice concept.  That helps people to feel welcome and more secure in their surrounds.  One of the reasons why going to Walmart is so much fun!  Just like a food court in any mall, you can walk around and select a whole meal or different parts of your meal from the variety of vendors.

Since I was feeling somewhat off kilter today, I made some strange purchases during my visit to the Pennsy.  Everything I got was absolutely delicious, don’t get me wrong!  It was just an odd mix of food for one to eat, or I should say anticipate eating during one sitting.

First, I stopped at Pat LaFrieda Meat Purveyors and ordered the Black Angus Steak Sandwich.  It’s covered with caramelized onions and cheese all served on ciabatta bread.  While waiting for my meat, I casually popped my head over at the Mario by Mary counter.  Everything looked really appetizing over there, so I decided I’d order myself a Truffle Honey Grilled Cheese Panini.  I was fully cognizant of the fact that I was waiting for a steak sandwich.  I don’t have any excuses for purchasing two dinners and I can’t give you a logical or thoughtful reason explaining how it made sense to buy two dinners.  I just felt like having both of these things and I bought them.

Once I got home, I realized that it was a bit more food than necessary.  I figured I’d just stick one in the fridge and eat it for lunch or dinner tomorrow night.  Easy enough.  Well, that’s not exactly what happened.  Apparently, I was hungrier than I had thought… so I ate both of them.  Yes, tonight for dinner I had a steak sandwich and a grilled cheese panini.  I enjoyed both of them thoroughly.  I am also having a difficult time sitting on my couch right now, in my elastic waistband pants, because I am so full!
