• The Waffle Sandwich Creation

11850118_2135293166611407_1169039484_nSome mornings I wake up with this idea in my head that I need to make something.  No matter how hungry I am or what other important things there are for me to do, I don’t want to let go of this idea.  Usually, I end up giving in and start experimenting in the kitchen.  My stomach might be growling, but if I wake up with a waffle sandwich idea, I just say screw my stomach.  Of course, immediately following the making of any creation, I will either consume it or eat the meal I had planned to eat all along.

Here’s a little “How To” guide on making my waffle sandwich creation.  As with any of my DIY foods and recipes, you can always add or take away certain “enhancing” ingredients to fit your own pickiness, or lack-there-of.

    The Waffle Sandwich Creation:

    1.  Cut a Belgian Waffle in half lengthwise.  You can make the waffle yourself, buy one at the diner, or get pre-packaged ones at the grocery store.  Just make sure it’s Belgian because those puppies are the thick ones.  For my creation, I used a waffle I purchased at Le Pain Quotidien.

    2. Scoop out some cookie dough and put it on one of the waffle halves.  It’s probably best to make sure the cookie dough is close to or at room temperature.  If it’s too cold, it won’t “mush” between the square holes of the waffle.  I had some left over cookie dough from .

    3. Put the other half of the waffle on top to form a sandwich and press down lightly so there is a little bit of cookie dough “ooze” coming out of the sides and the holes.  Then, spray a big heap of Reddi-Wip on top of the sandwich.

    4. Using whatever additional toppings you’d like, go to town!  My Waffle Sandwich Creation had chocolate syrup, caramel sauce, and mini rainbow colored chocolate chips on top.  Plus, you can never forget the maraschino cherry!

And that’s how it’s done.  A pretty simple 4 step process for an awesome looking dessert.  So, let your imaginations run wild and if you happen to make a Waffle Sandwich Creation of your own, let me know.  I’d love to eat it!  I mean see it…
