I’m not much of an outdoorsman (outdoorswoman?). I prefer to cook my food in an oven, sleep on a mattress, and flush a toilet. It is highly unlikely that you will EVER find me hovering over a fire, with a stick in my hand, attempting to roast marshmallows. Aside from the whole, “where has this stick been?” paranoia I have, there could also be bugs crawling on it.
There are many “domesticated” ways I have found for making s’mores that don’t involve potential bacterial infections from being up a bear’s “you-know-what.” For starters, grab a fork, stab the marshmallow and stick it over the stove. It’s still fire! Or, you can be super fancy and use a Brulee Torch. Another option is to turn it into a dip. That’s right, a s’mores dip!
Ingredients:
1/4 Tbsp Butter
3/4 cup Chocolate Chips
1/2 cup Graham Cracker Crumbs
10 Marshmallows, halved
Directions:
Pre-heat the oven to 450 degrees with glass dip bowl inside.
Once the oven reaches set temperature, remove glass container and spread butter to coat bottom and sides. Make sure you are extremely careful during this step, as the glass will be very hot from being in the oven.
Add a layer of graham cracker crumbs (about 1/4 inch high) followed by a solid layer of chocolate chips.
Sprinkles the remaining graham cracker crumbs and the rest of the chocolate chips.
Top with marshmallow halves until completely covered.
Bake in over for about 5-7 minutes, until marshmallows are golden brown.
Let cool for another 5 minutes.
Serve with graham crackers to dip.
S’mores Dip is such a delicious and simple snack to make. You can take the idea of it even further by thinking “fondue!” Grab some strawberries, cheesecake bites, pineapple, pretzels, ham (okay, maybe not ham) and dip until you can’t dip anymore.
DELICIOUS!!!!
